Feliciano Lopez Looking for a Sparring Partner in Miami

Tennis - Spain's Feliciano Lopez is looking for a practice partner in Miami, ahead of the Miami Open Masters Series event.

The left-handed Spaniard seems to be on his way to Miami as he posted an update on his Twitter account - saying 'Any tennis player in Miami ready to practice from friday 13th while we are waiting for the 🦠 to disappear?'

Lopez and several other tennis players were in Indian Wells earlier this week but the tournament there has been canceled due to the outbreak of the coronavirus.

While the Miami Open tournament has released a statement saying that the tournament will go ahead as scheduled, several experts and fans are wondering if the tournament will actually go ahead as scheduled given that the Miami area is also affected by the virus.

It remains to be seen if Lopez finds a partner and if the tournament actually does end up taking place.

The 38 year old Lopez is a former World No. 12. During the 2018 Wimbledon Championships, López made his 66th consecutive Grand Slam main draw appearance, surpassing the previous record of 65 consecutive appearances held by Roger Federer. As of the 2020 Australian Open, his record stands at 72 consecutive appearances.

He won his first Grand Slam title at the 2016 French Open when he won the men's doubles title with Marc López.
