Felix Auger-Aliassime reacts to ATP suspending Tour for six weeks

Rising Canadian star Felix Auger-Aliassime admits he is disappointed because there won't be any tournaments in the next six weeks but underlines it's up to all individuals to do what's needed in these difficult times.

On Thursday, the ATP announced it was suspending the men's professional Tour for at least the following six weeks due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The Masters events in Indian Wells and Miami had been already called off even before the ATP announced the suspension.

"The whole world is going through a difficult period... I am obviously disappointed with this forced break, but we must all do our part to protect the most vulnerable people. I hope you all stay safe," Auger-Aliassime said in a Twitter post.

Auger-Aliassime, ranked at No. 20 in the world, made a positive start to the 2020 season as he made two finals in the opening two months of the year.

Yet it didn't result in the 19-year-old winning a maiden ATP title as he ended runner-up in Rotterdam and Marseille.

The Canadian also had a promising run in Adelaide, where he made the semifinal before losing to eventual champion Andrey Rublev.
