John Millman Not Happy with Practice Arrangements at Indian Wells

When organizers of the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells decided to cancel the tournament due to the outbreak of the coronavirus, they did say that the players would be able to use the courts for practice.

However, Australia's John Millman did not have a good experience whilst organizing his practice at the tournament site on Monday which he posted on his Twitter account. The Australian was refused to play at his scheduled practice time because his partner, a top seed at the event, was not able to make it and the court was reserved for a top player or past champ - something that did not go down well with the World No. 43.

Millman commented, "Meant to hit with a high seed tmrw. That person cancelled today obviously due to there being no tournament on anymore. Informed practice I’d still use time and court as I’m still here. Practice desk said no I don’t get that time or court because I’m not a top player or past champ. Even when there’s no more tournament the bias is strong... classy"

His tweet also elicited some response from WTA players Ellen Perez and Vania King, who spoke about their experiences at the US Open and Wimbledon.
