Roger Federer Recovers RF Logo from NIKE

When Roger Federer ended his contract with Nike in 2018 and moved to Uniqlo, his RF logo remained with the American company and the 20-time Grand Slam champion initiated a process to recover the RF logo from Nike. As part of his new deal, Federer could not use his RF logo on his new kit and shoes as Nike retained the license for that.

Federer had earlier commented, “The RF logo is with Nike at the moment, but it will come to me at some point. I hope rather sooner than later, that Nike can be nice and helpful in the process to bring it over to me. It’s also something that was very important for me, for the fans really. Look, it’s the process. But the good news is that it will come with me at one point. They are my initials. They are mine. The good thing is it’s not theirs forever."

Now, the RF logo is back with Federer, with the logo appearing on his website as well. Federer underwent knee surgery last month after the Australian Open and said he would skip all tournaments till the grass court season. When the 20 time Grand Slam returns to the tour on the grass courts in England, he should be sporting the RF logo once again.
