This is What Victoria Azarenka Has Been Doing Away from the Courts

Many have been wondering what former World No. 1 Victoria Azarenka has been up to, having not played any tournaments this year. The 30 year old Azarenka has not competed on the tour since losing in the first round of the US Open last year, mainly due to the custody battle around her son.

While it is not certain if and when Azarenka will return to the tour, the Belarusian is surely making the most of her time away from the courts. She has enrolled into the Harvard Business Program - Crossover into Business. Azarenka is seen in a picture posted by fellow tennis pro Monica Puig on her Instagram account a few weeks ago. Besides Puig and Azarenka, other tennis players in the programme include Christina Mchale and Alla Kudryavtseva.

Puig posted the picture with the caption - "So honored to have been accepted into the 6th and largest edition of the #CrossoverIntoBusiness program at @harvardhbs . It was an amazing couple of days forming connections and new friendships with some very incredible people. A huge thank you to @anitaelberse @kaiasimmz and @melcolmx for giving us the tools and resources to grow as students, athletes, and smart business people. I can’t wait to see what the future holds of each and every one of us! #LifeAtHBS ❤️"

This is the same programme that former World No. 1's Maria Sharapova and Caroline Wozniacki, Andrea Petkovic and Bethanie Mattek-Sands have attended in the past.

The course requires a full day of classes on campus and then putting in hours remotely with a team of students across the semester. The WTA also offers players the option to complete their undergraduate studies online at Indiana University East, which many players including Venus Williams, have taken advantage of.
