Filippo Baldi: "The rumors about the resumption of the season say that ..."

At least until July 13th, we will have to do without Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Serena Williams, and other tennis players whom we love to follow. At the moment, tennis has been stopped due to the Coronavirus emergency and there is still no certainty about the rest of the season. Italian Filippo Baldi is currently in Southern Italy, where he is training alone while being safe.

Through a post on Facebook, he recounted this difficult moment: "I am in Palermo alone and it is all very boring. It often rains, I am stuck at home. I enjoy cooking, I am finding different ingredients and recipes to test. My favorite dish? Rice, zucchini and prawns." Then about tennis, he said: "2019 tournament at Estoril was beautiful, organized among other things very well. I was lucky because I entered as lucky loser in place of Fabio Fognini and I enjoyed the moment, despite the defeat against Cuevas."

About the tennis suspension and the real rumors about it, he said: "No play until July 13h, but they say they are confident. In reality, rumors suggest that the stop could last at least until the end of August or directly in September. With the explosion of Coronavirus also in the world of tennis ([Thiago] Seyboth-Wild is the first player to have tested positive for COVID-19), the situation has worsened considerably."

The general feeling is that the season, already significantly compromised, can resume in late summer or early autumn, even if the situation is still in the development phase. Tennis World USA will follow daily all updates regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and its repercussions on the tennis season, updating our readers with all the news.
