Jo Wilfried Tsonga talks about French summer tour project
Former world No. 5 Jo Wilfried Tsonga hopes the French summer tour will be staged if the Tour doesn't resume on July 13 once the current suspension expires.
The French summer tour was proposed by All in Academy and supported by the French Tennis Federation (FFT) -- the goal of the project is to help players and do some charity work at the same time.

If it goes ahead, the plan is: - 3-week group stage at four tennis clubs in Côte d'Azur - 1-week knock-out final stage - singles and doubles for men and women, plus mixed doubles - wild cards for foreign players training in France/Monaco

The organizers would try to attract sponsors "and, ideally, sell TV rights." Part of prize money would go to solidarity fund.

Tsonga: "Tennis is a very individualistic sport but it knows how to show solidarity when it comes to helping others. In France, for example, there is Davis Cup Club and when one of the club members is in difficulty everyone mobilizes to help him. It has happened many times."

Tsonga, now ranked at No. 49 in the world, didn't enjoy a good start to the season as he picked up a back injury in his second tournament of the season.
The Frenchman lost his Doha opener, before he was forced to retire his Australian Open first round clash to Alexei Popyrin.
