Rafael Nadal Speaks to Virus Patient in Sagunto Hospital
Spain's Rafael Nadal took some time out to speak with one of the patients hospitalized with the COVID-19 illness in a hospital in the city of Sagunto, which is in the province of Valencia.
The 19-time Grand Slam champion participated in a video call and sent a message of support to the patient during the difficult period of treatment of the disease. Nadal told the fan, who participates in street races, that he will soon be able to resume his training and competition routine. “When you realize it, you will be running the 20 kilometres again with the discipline and daily work that you are doing."
Nadal has also been active in raising funds for those affected by the illness and has also been working with the other players on the ATP Player's Council.
