Serena Williams' best final in Rome
Serena Williams has won four editions of the Internazionali BNL d'Italia. The prestigious Italian tournament, which saw its first edition in 1930, is one of the most important events of the clay season and the latest Premier 5 in preparation for the French Open.
Serena won in 2002, 2013, 2014 and 2016. The last time, in 2016, she defeated her countrywoman Madison Keys with the final score of 7-6(3), 6-3, winning a much more difficult challenge than it might have seemed.
This is one of the memories of past days as the COVID-19 pandemic has led to the season's suspension over time. The tournament could be relocated in the calendar this season, before or after the French Open or during the Fall.
