Dominic Thiem reveals plans to host invitational tournament "Thiem's 7"

Austrian tennis superstar Dominic Thiem has revealed his plans to host an invitational tournament in Kitzbuhel in July. 

"Thiem's 7" invitational tournament will take place in Kitzbuhel from July 7-11 and eight players will compete in the tournament.

Every player will play at least three matches over the week and the Tour went will feature a €330.000 prize money pool. 

Thiem, a back-to-back French Open runner-up, will be one of the participants of the event.

Gael Monfils, ranked at No. 9 in the world, has also signed up to play and six more players are left to be announced for Thiem's invitational tournament. 

Dominic Thiem returned to action this week 

Three months after his last match played on the ATP Tour, Thiem returned to competitive action at the Austrian Pro Series. 

The Austrian had been practicing for a while now as Austrian professional players were allowed to return to practices earlier this month. 

Thiem clashed against lower-ranked players in each of his first three matches at the Austrian Pro Series and claimed three wins. 

In his first match played at the Austrian Pro Series, Thiem saw off world No. 293 Lukas Miedler 6-1 6-2. 

In his following match played, Thiem struggled but still avoided a shock loss as he beat 801th-ranked Sandro Kopp 5-7 6-3 6-0. 

But Thiem's performance drastically improved in his third match as he demolished world No. 479 David Pichler 6-0 6-0. 

Dominic Thiem should be well prepared when the time comes for his invitational tournament.
