Novak Djokovic receives award from the Serbian Foreign Ministry

The minister of foreign affairs Ivica Dacic presented this award to him on the occasion of Diplomacy Day. In a statement, the Ministry said that the award was given to "the famous tennis player, the living legend Novak Djokovic, which is proof that athletes are perhaps the best ambassadors of our country in the world."

The award is given to anyone who helps raise the reputation of Serbia on the international platform.

The top-ranked Djokovic said upon receiving the award, "I will continue to love and respect Serbia and my people. I will continue to respect and appreciate all the other peoples of the world, because I believe that when acting in this way, with such emotion, it is done unequivocally well."

Novak Djokovic has won 17 Grand Slam singles titles in his career and is currently the top-ranked player in the world. He is third in the race for most Grand Slam singles titles in men's tennis history, behind Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. He is among the top athletes of Serbia and has done a lot of humanitarian work over the years. He has his own foundation, the Novak Djokovic Foundation, which has been making several efforts to help raise funds for those impacted by the pandemic. Last week, he also announced the creation of the 'Adria Tour', where some of the top tennis stars will compete and raise money for charity during the current tennis shutdown.
