Damir Dzumhur: Gael Monfils is a cool guy, Jack Sock is arrogant

Top-ranked Bosnian Damir Dzumhur says Gael Monfils is one player he really admires and reveals he is not a big admirer of the Americans, specifically Jack Sock. 

Dzumhur, a three-time ATP champion, was a guest on Sport Klub's Wish & Go podcast and that's where he made the revelation. 

"I won't mention our (Balkan) players because we all have a good relationship. The most positive guy is Gael Monfils and 99 percent of players will say that. He is really funny, he always has a smile on his face and that's nice to see. He has never made any negative scenes and he is a big showman. You can feel his positive energy," Dzumhur said, as revealed on Sport Klub.

"On the other side, the Americans are the worst for our Balkan and European players. I can mention one of them and that's Jack Sock. He can see you five times a day and each time he will turn his head and won't greet you. He is not shy, he is arrogant, there was time I thought I was doing something wrong. Once I opened the topic with someone -- I can't recall with whom it was -- and he told me all the Americans are like that. And they are, 90 percent of them. One day they talk you and the other day they act like they don't know you. I don't understand it."

Damir Dzumhur can't figure out why there is so much hate on the WTA Tour 

Dzumhur, a former world No. 23, has revealed that he has a good relationship with Montenegrin Danka Kovinic.

"We (Balkan) players hang out most with players from out region. I have a good relationship with Danka Kovinic. We have seen each other many times in Belgrade. I don't like those who can't take a joke," Dzumhur said. 

"The WTA Tour... I can't understand why they don't love each other, why there is so much hate and why they can't train with each other."

Dzumhur returned to competitive action over a week ago as he beat Marko Miladinovic and Filip Krajinovic to win the SK Soccer Cup in Belgrade. 

Damir Dzumhur is scheduled to meet world No. 1 Novak Djokovic in an exhibition match in Sarajevo, in early-July.
