LTA and BNP Paribas to raise funds for StreetGames

According to the  Sports Industry Group website, the bank would donate £25 for every ace served at the British Tour event series, which is taking place at the National Tennis Centre. The two organisations aim to raise £20,000 for the charity because of the initiative, which starts this week.

Stephen Farrow, Director of International Events, LTA, commented, "We’re very pleased to be working with BNP Paribas on the Aces from the Heart campaign at our British Tour events this year. Of course we would have liked to have been supporting this initiative at Queen’s again, but it’s great that we can use the platform of the British Tour events to help raise significant funds for StreetGames. Their work to use sport to positively impact the lives of disadvantaged young people complements our vision of opening tennis up to more people. Following on from our racket donation during lockdown, we hope the funds generated through Aces from the Heart will continue to support this fantastic work.”

Anne Marie Verstraeten, UK Country Head of BNP Paribas said: “We are delighted to support StreetGames through our ‘Aces from the Heart’ programme for a second year. Their work supporting vulnerable, young people across the UK is more important now, than ever.”

StreetGames is a charity that brings sport to poor young people in England, Wales and Scotland. All projects in the StreetGames network of organisations are locally funded and controlled and the organization has over 800 projects providing weekly sport to the children of the poor. StreetGames has been the LTA’s National Charity Partner since last year. As part of the partnership, BNP Paribas raised £40,000 for the charity during the Fever Tree Championships at Queens in 2019. The Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) is the national governing body of tennis in Great Britain, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. The organisation was founded in 1888 and the purpose of LTA is to promote the sport from grassroots participation through to the professional game, based on the fundamental belief that tennis can provide physical, social and mental rewards both on and off the court.
