Novak Djokovic: "My Academy one of the greatest life projects"

As things currently stand, the prestigious Novak Djokovic Tennis Academy is located exclusively in Serbia, in Belgrade. However, as revealed by SportKlub in a recent interview, the 8 times Australian Open champion intends to expand his project to other countries as well, so as to increase and encourage the development of tennis around the world.

Over the next few days, Nole will compete in New York to claim her fourth US Open trophy. He will be the big favorite at Flushing Meadows, especially after the important retirements of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.

"There are several things that I am preparing for the future," told Nole to SportKlub. He also said: "One of the greatest projects of my life is the Academy. Through the Novak Tennis Club I am testing some things that will be part of a great system in the future. This will be able to offer everything I have talked about previously in Serbia and the rest of the world."

Novak Djokovic: "I can't go into details yet"

Djokovic then underlined the importance, for him, of a project like this: "It inspires me and motivates me to offer this program soon, so that young athletes can get closer to my mentality, my experience and what I can share with them."

Nole, however, specified that he could not tell further: "I cannot go into details, because for now nothing has been confirmed. Currently we are in the preparation and assembly phase of the various parts, it is a process that will take some time."

During this month of August, the ATP Tour was finally able to restart after weeks of inactivity: the restart took place in New York, where the Western and Southern Open ATP Masters 1000 (usually in Cincinnati, in Ohio, but thos season in the bubble of Flushing Meadows) was held. Today the victims of Coronavirus in the world are more than 800 thousand, while the cases of contagion are close to 25 million. The United States continues to be the country most battered by the pandemic, with over 180,000 deaths.

After winning his 35 Masters 1000 title of career at the Western and Southern Open against Milos Raonic, Novak Djokovic will play the first round of the US Open 2020 against Damir Dzumhur: a not simple challenge for the Serb, which however seemed to be in a good psycho-physical form at the Western and Southern Open.
