2020 memories: Jannik Sinner's first ATP title

In one of the most incredible, particular and dramatic seasons ever, the great tennis stars like Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams still managed to shine, for one reason or another.

Jannik Sinner was one of the great protagonists of 2020. A few weeks after his excellent performance at the French Open, where he reached the quarter-finals by losing in straight sets to eventual champion Rafael Nadal, in the ATP 250 in Sofia he became the youngest player Italian to have won an ATP title in the Open era.

In the first round he eliminated Márton Fucsovics by a score of 6-2, 6-4. In the round of 16 he overcomes the lucky loser Marc-Andrea Huesler for 6-3, 6-4. In the quarterfinals he won against Alex De Minaur with the score of 6-7, 6-4, 6-1. In his third career semifinal (the second this season), Sinner eliminated Adrian Mannarino in two sets by 6-3, 7-5. In the final, on November 14, Jannik triumphed at the third-set tie-break against Vasek Pospisil by lifting his first trophy in the ATP Tour.
