'The desire of Djokovic and Roger Federer to try and win...', says legend

The 2019 Wimbledon final is one of the matches of recent years that will remain most impressed in the minds of all fans of the world of tennis. This is obviously a sad as well as heartbreaking memory for the numerous Roger Federer fans, who, even today, wonder how the story would have gone if Roger Federer had converted one of the two match points wasted in the final against the current world number one Novak. Djokovic. In that case, the Swiss champion would most likely still be the tennis player with the most Grand Slam titles and shouldn't share this scepter with the other Spanish legend Rafael Nadal, current world number two. Instead in the end it was Novak Djokovic who triumphed after an incredible battle with the result of 7-6; 1-6; 7-6; 4-6; 13-12 leaving the Swiss empty-handed. At the end of the match Federer finished with 14 points more than the Serbian, he had 40 more winners than his opponent but he squandered two match points thus missing a great opportunity and leaving the victory to Djokovic who won the crown and the titles on the history books. For the Serbian on that occasion it was the sixteenth title of the Grand Slam. Recently, Tim Henman revealed that he is hopeful of Tokyo Olympic 2021 getting a green signal midst the raging pandemic. The former world no. 4 laid special emphasis on 2-time Olympic gold medalist Andy Murray.

Henman on Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic and others

Tim Henman couldn’t hide his excitement for the fellow Brit and said, “Yeah, definitely. I’m not sure he would win [the] gold medal, but I think, given he’s the present holder and twice Olympic singles gold medalist, throw Andy Murray in the mix, I think it could be an amazing storyline.” Tim Henman took note of it and said, “When you’ve seen the Olympic medals that Venus and Serena Williams have won over the years. It just adds credibility to tennis as a part of the Olympic movement. When you look at Murray’s wins in 2012, 2016, how much it meant to him as one of the best players in the world, and the desire of Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer to try and win that singles Olympic gold is incredibly exciting.” Besides his success at Wimbledon, Roger has won ten titles on the grass at Halle, in Germany. The former Wimbledon champion has a special bond with this tournament in particular. The organizers had given him a wild card in his early days, thus lending him a helping hand in showcasing his talent. However, the fact that Federer has had a tremendous amount of success on other surfaces is what makes him a complete player.
