WTA best shot of 2020: Magda Linette's passing winner

Magda Linette's winning passing shot against Peng Shuai at the 2020 Thailand Open second round was awared as the best shot of the women's season. It was an exceptional shot, for the coefficient of difficulty with which it was taken.

In the first sets, on the score of 6-5 (AD-40), Linette was ready to face her rival's service. After a brief exchange, Peng Shuai took command and, from her baseline, she hit a very devasting two-handed backhand. Linette, forced to an incredible athletic effort, moved very quickly to her right, responding to her opponent's backhand with a very difficult and very valuable winning passing shot.

Linette then won the title at the Thailand Open 2020, beating Leonie Küng in the final in strainght sets, for 6-3 6-2. It was her second WTA title, after the 2019 NYJTL Bronx Open wins, in New York against Italian Camila Giorgi. Linette also won the WTA 125K Ningbo Challenger, in Ningbo.
