Rafael Nadal's Schedule for 2021
Despite everything, 2020 was a great season for world number two Rafael Nadal. The Spanish tennis player has, despite the numerous adversities related to the pandemic caused by the well-known Covid-19 virus, brought home the thirteenth Roland Garros of his career and above all Slam number 20, a record that allowed him to reach his great opponent Roger Federer.
The other tournament Rafa won came at the Mexico Open in Acapulco and we can say that Rafa finished the season as number 2 in the world for the seventh time in his career. In addition to this, however, he was unable to conquer the titles in Paris Bercy and at the Atp Finals at the end of the year, two of the biggest tournaments that the Majorcan tennis player has never won.
Particular regret especially for the ATP Finals where Rafa came out in the semifinals after being ahead of a set and a break against the then winner of the tournament Daniil Medvedev. In view of the 2021 season, Rafa is training to improve and try to achieve more goals, perhaps winning Grand Slams even outside the Parisian tournament.
Rafael Nadal's schedule for 2021Although there is nothing official given the obvious problems caused by the Pandemic, Rafael Nadal has structured the calendar for this season and what will be the tournaments that the King of Clay tennis player will play.
Here is the program:
Atp Cup (February 1st-5th) Australian Open (8 February 8th) Mexican Open Acapulco (March 15th) Montecarlo Rolex Masters April 12th) Barcelona (April 19th) Mutua Madrid Open (May 3rd) Italian Open (10 May 10th) Roland Garros (May 24th) Wimbledon (June 28th) Tokyo Olympic Games (July 26th) Masters 1000 Toronto (August 9) Us Open (August 30th) Laver Cup (September 20th) Masters 1000 Paris Bercy (November 1st) Turin ATP Finals (November 15th) Davis Cup Madrid (November 22nd)
Rafael Nadal's goal after just 7 tournaments in 2020 is to play the most tournaments over the course of the season. 2020 was a particularly satisfying season for Rafa, who at Roland Garros gave his thirteenth seal and finally reached Roger Federer's Slam record, standing at 20 titles. The greatest tennis stars on the planet, like Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray, Serena Williams, Naomi Osaka, Ashleigh Barty, Simona Halep and all the others, will come back for the upcoming Australian Open 2021, which will be held in Melbourne from 8 February: it will be the most awaited sports event of the first part of the new season. It will be a very spectacualr season, and all of us hope without the problems of the last one, with some presence of the crowd in the courts across the world. Federer should come back on the court, for the joy of his fans, at the end of February or at the beginning of March after having announced that he will be skipping the Australian Open. The new season has yet to begin but there is already a desire to put a disastrous 2020 behind us from all points of view and start the new year with the first Grand Slam of the year in the hope that the pandemic can slowly regress and bring back the planet to live seriously and also allow the world of sport to perform in front of the general crowd.
