Yulia Putintseva FINDS A RAT in the Australian quarantine hotel!

Yulia Putintseva's mandatory quarantine does not start very well. The Russian tennis player, a naturalized Kazakh player, is passing through a Melbourne hotel, the quarantine period imposed by the Australian government authorities on tennis players who arrive to play the first tournaments of the season.

The current number 28 of the WTA world rankings, posted on her social profiles, Twitter and Instagram, a video that immortalizes a little mouse going around undisturbed inside the hotel room.

If initially it could be seen as a situation on which to make a little irony, after more than two hours of waiting, even poor Putintseva lost her temper, attaching a message to the video posted on the internet.

These are the words of the Kazakh tennis player: "After asking for a change of room, two hours have already passed and still no one has taken action to solve my problem." To try to draw attention to the unpleasant situation, Putintseva also tagged in the post the pages of Tennis Australia and the Australian Open. Within minutes, the video was seen by over 40,000 people and retweeted and cited in other posts more than 300 times.

Sorana Cirstea's outburst against Tennis Australia

Meanwhile, with another tweet, the Romanian tennis player Sorana Cirstea also lashes out against the direction of the Australian Open, highlighting in a photo, the words of the statement of the Australian Tennis CEO Craig Tiley, who in mid-October had categorically ruled out that the tennis players had to make a two weeks quarantine without being able to train.

Situation that at the moment seems to have been totally reversed to the detriment of all tennis players. The season has just begun and there are already all the conditions to imagine that it will not be a walk of health, sport and fun for anyone. It will probably be anything but.

We have to recall that few hours ago, the presence of two people infected with the Covid-19 virus was confirmed on the direct flight from Los Angeles, United States, to Melbourne, Australia. This means that all players on the plane will now have to spend 14 days in solitary confinement in their hotel room, unable to carry out the training program.

Unfortunately, the same thing also happened on another plane: it is the EY8004 direct flight from Abu Dhabi to Melbourne, on which a positive person was found in Australia. Also in this case, the 64 passengers (including 23 players, especially from the WTA Tour) will be subjected to the same treatment, having now to spend two weeks in quarantine without being able to move. Among the people on board, many tennis players who will take part in the first Major event of the year: Bianca Andreescu, Angelique Kerber, Paula Badosa, Marta Kostyuk, Svetlana Kuznetsova, Belinda Bencic, Elena Rybakina, Ons Jabeur and Maria Sakkari, among many others.
