Rory McIlroy, special hole in one challenge

The odds of an average golfer making an ace are roughly one in 100,000, while stats suggest a European Tour pro's chances are closer to one in 2,500..

In four previous episodes, they have given players 500 balls and an entire day to try to make a hole-in-one. However, to help celebrate the 50th anniversary of the United Arab Emirates in 2021, this time they gave two of the world’s best players in McIlroy and Thomas just 50 attempts each in a 148-yard par three at Abu Dhabi Golf Club and they didn't make it.

Meanwhile, the third Top 10 of the season (eighth at The Genesis Invitational in California) gives Francesco Molinari the 85th position (with 1.5827 points) in the world ranking of men's golf. The blue, 107° on the eve of The Genesis, is thus among the top 100 players. The king is always Dustin Johnson. The American, in the lead with 12.6631, precedes the Spaniard Jon Rahm (second with 9.2690). After The Genesis the first six positions remained unchanged. While Patrick Cantlay (now seventh with 6.5804) relegated Rory McIlroy to eighth place (6.4597), who came out at the cut in the PGA Tour tournament. It is the only variation among the top 12 finishers.
