Hatton then followed up his win with a tie for 22nd at the OMEGA Dubai Desert Classic, highlighted by an impressive second round 64 that helped him to comfortably make the cut after a turbulent first round left him way down the leaderboard.

Paul Casey was the runner-up in the first of this year’s head-to-head battles for Golfer of the Month, receiving 40.4% of the vote after winning a milestone 15th European Tour title at the iconic OMEGA Dubai Desert Classic. The Englishman had a fast start with a 67 on Thursday and put on a convincing display on his way to his own four-shot victory.

The first meeting of 2021 in the Coverciano del green, the National Golf of Sutri (Viterbo). In a fundamental year, where Covid will still have to be dealt with, in which key events such as the Tokyo Olympics, Solheim and Ryder Cup stand out. But also an Italian Open which in September (from 2 to 5) will go on stage at the Marco Simone Golf & Country Club in Rome, on the course of the Italian Ryder Cup in 2023.

Among the big names in Sutri, however, there is also Matteo Manassero, the youngest winner in the history of the European Tour who in 2020, after more than 7 years from the last time, returned to success by making the Toscana Alps Open his own. "The exploit on the Alps Tour helped to turn the corner. I went through negative moments and that was a small but important step. The victory, satisfaction aside, made me gain greater awareness to continue with even more conviction that path undertaken, made up of sacrifices and training, aimed at returning to excellent levels. 2021, as it was 2020, will be full of uncertainties due to the health emergency. I will probably start the year at the end of March on the Alps and then, from April, I will also concentrate on the Challenge. The race pace is lacking a lot and I think that playing with little continuity is the most complicated thing on a mental level ".
