Federer still has enough points ahead of Roberto Bautista Agut, number 11 and still almost 3000 points away, consequently at least for the moment the stay in the Top 10 is not at risk but given that the Swiss champion plans to compete less and less tournaments, in the coming months it could officially come out of the world Top Ten. Roger Federer has had multiple fierce rivalries over his illustrious career. Starting from the 2001 season onwards, Federer had an intense rivalry with Andy Roddick, and the duo constantly competed against each other at the latter stages of the tournament.

Roddick reveals being jealous of Roger Federer

“I was always jittery before matches. One of my many sources of jealousy with Roger Federer was how relaxed he was able to be just through kind of his operation, whether it was practice before matches. I was not that way. I was and am pretty high-strung when I care about something,” said Andy Roddick. Until his retirement in 2012, Roddick had some epic battles with Federer. Their most famous match was the 2009 Wimbledon final which the Swiss maestro won 16-14 in the fifth set. After the conclusion of the Miami Open 2021, the ATP rankings have seen some changes. The top 10 hasn’t changed much, but one player is slowly slipping down the rankings. Roger Federer continued his slide downwards in the rankings as Alexander Zverev got past him. Roger Federer and Alexander Zverev were ranked 6th and 7th respectively before the start of the Miami Open 2021. But with the new directive from ATP enabling players to lose their 2019 points, Federer was set to lose 500 points from his Miami Open 2019 triumph.
