Benoit Paire: I'm not in a hurry to find my best level

French tennis player Benoit Paire suffered another early exit on Monday but he wasn't particularly concerned by it. 

Paire, ranked at No. 35 in the world, suffered a 6-4 6-3 loss to Stefano Travaglia in the Rome Masters first round. 

Last week, Paire beat Nikoloz Basilashvili in the Madrid Masters first round to a seven-match losing streak. 

Paire is now again on a two-match losing streak as before the Travaglia loss, he was beaten by Stefanos Tsitsipas in the Madrid second round.

"I'm still No. 35, I take advantage of the system. Next week, if I lose R1, it's as if I had made the final <...> I'm still in the draws. I'll have to win 1 or 2 matches to be in the Masters 1000s this summer <...> I am not in a hurry to find my best level," Paire said after losing to Travaglia. 

Paire was happy to have fans in Madrid 

"It had been a very long time since I entered a court with people around me supporting me. Being in empty stadiums is not something that I like. So being in Madrid in a Davis Cup atmosphere with French people who support me from start to finish, it makes me feel good and makes me love tennis again. That’s why I play and it warms my heart,” Paire said during a recent interview with L’Equipe, as revealed on Ubitennis.

"It’s a tough time for me. I have trouble feeling good in my head, in my legs, in my tennis … But I don’t just play for myself, I also play for the people who are there and who support me. I had to, for the recognition of this support, not to let go. It was not easy, I had to put myself in my head.’ Paire said.  “For me, it’s a bit like the start of my season.’ “I know that a lot of people criticized me and I really wanted to show them that they can be silent”.
