Rafael Nadal: I'm going to keep fighting for things

Spanish tennis superstar Rafael Nadal has acknowledged that the younger generation is coming but he underlined that he is still interested in fighting for the biggest titles. 

Nadal, who fell to No. 3 in the world on this week's updated ATP ranking list, is tied with Roger Federer on the all-time Grand Slam record list. 

The last four Masters events haven't been won by either Nadal, Federer or Novak Djokovic.

When asked about that stat, Nadal said: "Means that is something normal, that's all. First thing is that we are missing events. Second thing there is a new generation of players that are good. I think we are 34, 34, 39. That's something usual that nothing is forever. You need to be ready to accept that and let's see what's going on."

Nadal still wants the biggest accolades 

At the Rome Masters, Nadal was asked if he felt the younger guys were starting to sense it's their time to win a Grand Slam title. 

"Maybe. Let's see in three weeks or in four weeks. I don't know. Was not the case yet. But why not? No, of course. Let's see. Hopefully not. Anything can happen," Nadal said. 

"As I said, is not a stronger belief. It's we're older and they are always better and better. I don't like to hide the true. We are not playing as many tournaments as we did before. Is normal that after almost 20 years on the tour there is another generations that are winning tournaments.

"We have been achieving almost every single important event for the last 19 years. Nothing strange. 100% ready to accept that. But I going to keep fighting for the things. That means that in three weeks, two weeks and a half, there is another Grand Slam that I like to play. I going to fight to try to play well there."
