Novak Djokovic reveals the best presents that he has received from...

Novak Djokovic beat the competition in Grand Slams this year. The number 1 in the world has in fact won the first three Majors of 2021 by beating three members of the Next Gen in the relative finals (Daniil Medvedev at the Australian Open, Stefanos Tsitsipas at Roland Garros and Matteo Berrettini at Wimbledon). The Serbian champion will also be the big favorite at the US Open, which will start in New York in just over a week. The 34-year-old Serbian has returned from disappointment at the Tokyo Olympics, where he hoped to win the gold medal in singles to nurture a dream called 'Calendar Golden Slam'. His race was abruptly interrupted in the semifinals by Alexander Zverev, also due to a psycho-physical collapse as sudden as it was unexpected. Nole has decided to skip both American Masters 1000s to recharge his batteries for the United States Open, which will have an even more special flavor for him. Should he triumph at Flushing Meadows, Djokovic would become the second player in the Open Era to complete the Grand Slam (the first to do so was Rod Laver back in 1969). With Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal out of the game, it goes without saying that he will have enormous pressure on his shoulders.

Nole has won three Grand Slams this year

“I have received so many wonderful gifts. I received some really big paintings, several times it happened to me, someone in China hands me one, and I mean it’s something that is incredibly beautiful, unique, handmade, and that I mean I truly appreciate. But it is really hard for me to take it home, because I don’t know how to put it on plane,” said Novak Djokovic in the interview. Nole mentioned that although he likes all the gifts, he just loves the ones that are handmade. He stated that those gifts are something that are made purely from the heart and have a special place at his home. “You know, I received some presents that are incredible. I always appreciate it the most, those presents and gifts that were handmade, even if it’s a small paper or whatever it is, where a person really spends time and energy and creativity into creating something, you know, for someone else.” There is a lot at stake for Novak Djokovic at the US Open. By winning the hardcourt Major, he will not only complete the Calendar Slam, but also overtake Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal in the Slam race for the first time in his career. The Serb is currently tied with his long-time rivals on 20 Majors.
