Dominance of Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Djokovic is not good -Mezzadri
Claudio Mezzadri once again made some interesting claims. On Friday the former world No. 26 singles player and former Davis Cup Swiss team captain had revealed something unusual on the strange relationship between Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer. Now on Saturday, commenting on Sky Sport the Mubadala World Tennis Championship final in Abu Dhabi between Novak Djokovic and Kevin Anderson, Mezzadri said the Big 3 dominance made up of Federer, Rafael Nadal and Djokovic who won 51 Grand Slam titles combined, is not good for tennis.
Mezzadri said that this is caused by the fact that the surface speed on grass, clay and hard got uniform. 'There is less bounce. In the past there were some very important differences in terms of speed, bounce depending on the surface and so being polyvalent was more difficult. The same players always win and it's not good. The beauty of the game is not about achieving records and records, always winning. It becomes monotonous, the same one always wins. If there is a bigger fight on a sports level in general, it does not get more interesting. It becomes a record-matter.'
