Rafael Nadal: 'It's great that Roger Federer, Bjorn Borg tell me things'
Rafael Nadal commented on why he and Roger Federer shared advices each other during their respective matches at the Laver Cup in Geneva. The Spaniard said: “All the players help each other. Roger and I have a good relationship and we know each other very well after playing so many times against each other. So it’s great to have him telling me things, as well as Bjorn, Thomas or any player really because sometimes things from outside are more clear than from inside. I am happy and lucky to be in such a great team.”
Jack Sock commented on his doubles win with Nick Kyrgios over Nadal and Stefanos Tsitsipas: "There was a lot on the line there. We obviously wanted to keep the weekend close and being down 9-3 is a lot different to being 7-5", admitted the American.
Kyrgios added: “Jack’s had some tough injuries and to come back, put on a performance in singles and be our best doubles player is amazing. Our whole team is coming together and we’re going to ride this momentum into day three.”
Team World captain John McEnroe concluded: “They stepped up. That’s one of the best 10-point tiebreakers I’ve ever seen a doubles team play, and they needed to because Rafa and Stefanos wanted it bad. It gives us some momentum going into tomorrow."
