2018 ATP Tops and Flops!
Novak Djokovic, 10. After a slow start to 2018 season, Nole recovered the throne of men's tennis and won two Majors. He also completed the career Golden Masters. Who will have the strength to stop him?
Roger Federer, 9. Is still there someone who thinks that Federer should stop playing? At 37, he returned (for a few weeks) as the world no. 1, defended the title at the Australian Open and won a total of four titles. Federer still wants to amaze the world. And he's doing it. Always great!
Rafael Nadal, 9. The injuries held back his ambitions in the second part of the season. The titles won during the clay swing (including the 11th French Open title) and a super season projects him among the favourites in 2019. Unbeatable on clay!
Alexander Zverev, 8. Finally! The victory at the ATP Finals can give him the right charge for 2019, but the German will have to improve in the Majors to become great. At the last step!
Marin Cilic, 7. The last historical edition of the Davis Cup (as we have known and loved it) has had his signature. The usual ups and downs of the season put a brake on his ambitions, but now on fast surfaces, he is a serious problem for anyone. Specialist!
Kevin Anderson, 7. It was a fantastic season for him as he reached his second Major final. Unexpected Hero!
Juan Martin del Potro, 7. Misfortune never leaves Delpo, but it is hoped that the patella injury is less severe than expected. Nine years since he reached his first Major final and won his maiden Major at the US Open, he returned to the final at Flushing Meadows. His willpower was not enough to beat Djokovic. His season will also be remembered for the victory at Indian Wells against Federer. Bravo!
Dominic Thiem, 7. The French Open must be a starting point, not a finish line. Waiting for More!
Kei Nishikori, 6. The Japanese returned to excellent levels. Consistently good performances brought him back to the top-10, but he is still not able to overcome the last step. What's next?
Grigor Dimitrov, 4. His season was disappointing. Too many expectations and pressure. Clubbed!
Daniil Medvedev, Karen Khachanov, Borna Coric and Hyeon Chung, 7. Well done, these young guys, who with strong willpower and excellent performances are receiving praise and achievements. Improved!
