2019 ATP season preview!
The new season of tennis is almost upon us. 2019 will be very interesting because there will be many protagonists in the ATP Tour ready to fight each other to win the most important titles of the year. But who are the favourites and who are the outsiders?
Australian Open Needless to deny it: Novak Djokovic starts as a favourite, despite the last two defeats in the last two finals played. Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal will start just behind the Serb. The playing surface favours Federer, but from the physical and mental point of view, Nole is currently a step above. Possible outsiders: Marin Cilic and Kei Nishikori.
Roland Garros Rafael Nadal is the favourite to win the title. Unless there are sensational astral conjunctures or new injuries, it will be difficult for anyone, even Djokovic to stop Nadal on the burning clay of the Philippe Chatrier. The true rival of the Spaniard could be Alexander Zverev. But the German will have to overcome the emotional obstacle that overwhelms him in every Slam.
Wimbledon Federer or Djokovic. One of the two could be the winner. Outsiders? Kevin Anderson and Marin Cilic.
US Open In New York, there might be some surprises. If the physical conditions are optimal, the favourite could be Rafa and not Djokovic. Few chances for Federer, especially in the case of a triumph in Melbourne or Wimbledon. He has never managed to win the title at Flushing Meadows in recent years. Outsiders: Zverev, Nishikori, Cilic and Anderson.
With regard to the ATP Masters 1000, I am sure that there will be great surprises, with the young players of the Next-Gen ready for the leap of quality.
