Kei Nishikori to set high goals for 2019 as he targets Major title
Japanese tennis star Kei Nishikori feels healthy again as he has fully overcome a wrist injury.
The 28-year-old called it a 2017 season after the Montreal Masters to underwent a wrist surgery.
The Japanese missed the beginning of the 2018 season as he returned to competitive action at a Challenger event at the end of January.
A now-healthy-Nishikori is set to once again start a season by preparing in Brisbane for the Australian Open.
The 28-year-old played in Brisbane for six straight years from 2012 to 2017.
The Japanese fell just short of winning it all in Brisbane in 2017 as he ended runner-up to Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov in the final.
Kei Nishikori "It's been one year (since my wrist injury), now I have completely different feelings. I could hardly play tennis last December. I feel like I've come back (to this level) over the past year.https://t.co/MopTujeAkE

Nishikori started the 2018 season ranked at No. 22 before he plummeted to No. 39 in April.
However, a good second part of the season saw the Japanese climb up the rankings to No. 9.
Nishikori, a former world No. 4, achieved his main goal for 2018 by returning to the top-10.
Nishikori's ambitions and goals more or less remain the same as he will be targeting to win his maiden Masters 1000 and Grand Slam title in 2019.
The Japanese fell just short of winning his maiden Masters title this past season as he ended runner-up to Spain's Rafael Nadal in the Monte Carlo Masters final.
My primary goal for 2018 was to break the top10. I'll set usual goals for next year, like to win big titles & go deeper at Slams. I'm happy that my body has recovered again to have good training & practice w/o injury. I'm excited & gonna keep on challenging myself next year too."
