Once Roger Federer calmed down, it was finished for everybody - Andre Sa

In an interview to Globo Esporte , the Brazilian tennis player Andre Sa commented on how the Tour has changed over the years. Sa said he went through four generations. 'When I started on Tour, Sampras and Agassi were dominating. Then the generation of Guga, Safin and Hewitt came, then Federer and Nadal, then Djokovic and Murray. When Federer came everyone was surprised, then Nadal came, destroying.'

Did no one expect Federer? 'I waited, I waited. We already knew that he had a very big potential. Like he said, he only needed to control the emotional side. Once he understood it, it was finished for everybody.'

What changed the most since when he came on the Tour? 'I think professionalism of players and all the concepts, the methods, everything improved. I think now the player's preparation is very different in everything. Warm up, post match, recovery, food. All these things were not existing. The diet? When I started I was a big guy. I was not so fit. Now it's different, look at Djokovic how he has changed. It reflected on the player's locker room. Now when a guy opens a Coca Cola, it seems he is smoking. The environment changes. You also have to follow a diet not just for one or two months, but the whole year. And that kind of professionalism and effort is still unbelievable. Guys take care of themselves more, get helped by doctors, eating mentors.'

Federer will start new season in Perth.
