Serena Williams: 'At times my sister Venus is unbeatable'

Serena Williams praised her sister Venus' game style and fighting spirit. The 23-time Major winner leads the head to head meetings 18-12 against Venus and they last faced each other at the 2017 Australian Open final won by Serena in straight sets. That was Serena's last match before focusing on her pregnancy. Despite leading head to head, Serena has a lot of respect for her sister: 'I just always believe the way Venus plays at times, it's impossible to beat her. Because sometimes, even in practice, I'm really fighting just to get the ball back. And I don't even think I'm a good enough partner for her because of the way she's playing against me. But I don't know. I'm not going to say that I don't feel I'm -- but I think really if I missed a shot in that match, things really could have swung either way, and she would have been sitting here as the champion. I just think we're so close right now -- okay, I lost my mind.'

Serena also spoke about her friendship with tennis players: 'It's definitely something that's come about when I'm older. Some people you just have a connection to. It's not about whether you're friends with them or not. It's just about you have this attraction without even trying. I think with Caroline, even when she was younger, we've always had this little connection. The older we both got it got stronger and stronger. Yeah, we just really get along great. We're the best of friends. She helps me; I help her. We love that and it's great. I'm the kind of person that always says hello to everyone. I try to be as professional as I can in the locker room and outside of the locker room. I don't have anything against anyone. Life is far too short and there are so many things that are so much more important in life than, you know, hitting a tennis ball. Things do last longer than tennis. I think if you do have a good friendship, even if it's one, it's worth it.'
