Serena Williams explains why it's difficult to make friendships in tennis
Several times Maria Sharapova claimed she has no friends in tennis due to the competitiveness of the Tour. Serena Williams takes a different approach in it, although she admitted that making friendships is not easy. 'It's very difficult I think for anyone to be best buddies when you're so competitive. But I don't have a problem with anyone. I get along with everyone. I have respect for people not only on the court but as well as off the court. I don't have any problem when it comes to anything like that. I don't take jabs or anything. I am who I am and I don't hide anything. I think you guys have been able to see that. So, yeah, I'm totally fine', said Serena.
Commenting on how she spends her free time, Serena said she prefers going to the beach rather than skiing. 'Oh, I don't ski. My insurance doesn't cover skiing accidents (laughter). So, you know, I don't ski at all, but I did ‑‑I don't like the cold. I'm from California and I live in Florida, and me and snow, we do not get along. We are just like ‑‑I can't stand cold weather. Yeah, more or less sun, beach, boats. That's me.'
