Simona Halep likes watching Rafael Nadal, says Horia Tecau

The most important Romania's doubles player Horia Tecau revealed some interesting details on Simona Halep's admiration towards Rafael Nadal. According to Tecau, Simona motivates herself by watching the 17-time Grand Slam champion playing. 'It's good for Simona to watch Nadal, especially at the French Open. She likes his attitude and effort.'

Meanwhile, speaking on Eurosport, the seven-time Grand Slam winner Mats Wilander criticized Halep for her first round US Open loss to Kaia Kanepi in August. 'I did not expect Simona to lose. I think it is one of the typical situations that happen in women's draws because in the end within 45 minutes you lose. It does not happen to the net where thank to the three out of five it's longer. She wasn't just too emotional, but she also lacks a weapon to force her opponents to switch her game. This never happens to Nadal.'

The professionalism in tennis has gotten higher and higher, both on men's and women's side. The former tennis player Nicola Pietrangeli recalled the time he spent as an active player. His best memories are connected to the Rome Open when he spent nights with Ilie Nastase and Ion Tiriac. 'The nicest memories? The nights with Tiriac, Nastase and Manolo Santana', said Pietrangeli, as quoted by Ziare. 'Now it would not be possible, (Roger) Federer and (Novak) Djokovic would never do it. If you want to come to sit on the same table you have to bring ten more people of your team with yourself. Now, tennis players live with their teams in hotels and flights.'
