I can't wait Roger Federer for a too long time, says Richard Krajicek

The Rotterdam ABN Amro World Tennis Tournament Director Richard Krajicek is satisfied with the 2019 line they have built up. Speaking during a conference call on Friday, Krajicek explained why Roger Federer does not feature on the field. The Swiss defeated Grigor Dimitrov in a straight-set final in 2018, but he does not plan to be back to Rotterdam in 2019. 'Of course, it was great', said Krajicek about the last edition, 'but getting this name is not our priority. We contacted Roger's management, but we do not want to wait for a too long time. For example, we waited for Novak Djokovic a long time. He took a decision in mid-November and we did not get him. You may want to have the world No. 1, but if it does not work, you suddenly have the number 18. It causes big disappointments. Last year we were lucky, but you cannot build on it.'

Djokovic last played in Rotterdam in 2010.

Nine top 20 players will play in Rotterdam: 'That's really a superstar', Krajicek recognized. 'I was contacted more times by foreign colleagues for getting so many strong players. I am very proud of it. We can give the crowd a top player in every match. It gets very appreciated. We already have been having a good tickets sale.'
