Kyle Edmund withdraws from Rotterdam, Marseille
British tennis star Kyle Edmund has pulled out of the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam and Open 13 Provence in Marseille.
The 24-year-old is still dealing with a knee injury.
Edmund, ranked at No. 14 in the world, has no previous appearances on the indoor-hard courts of Rotterdam.
On the other side, the Briton has played in Marseille only once so far in his career -- in 2014 -- when he lost in the first round to Tobias Kamke.
After a breakthrough 2018 campaign, Edmund's start to the 2019 season hasn't been great.
The 24-year-old kicked off his season at the Brisbane International -- where he was surprised in his opener by Yasutaka Uchiyama.
The Briton then pulled out of the Sydney International with a knee injury but made a decision to play the opening Grand Slam of the season.
2018 Australian Open semi-finalist Edmund, who was clearly not at his at Melbourne Park, was easily beaten by Czech Tomas Berdych in the first round 6-3 6-0 7-5.
Meanwhile, a place in the Rotterdam main draw has opened for French Jeremy Chardy following the withdrawal of Edmund.

The Frenchman made back-to-back round-of-16 at the Rotterdam event in 2015 and 2016.
Also, a place in the Marseille main draw has opened for Germany's Peter Gojowczyk following the withdrawal of Edmund.

Gojowczyk, 29, has no previous Marseille main draw appearances as he failed to make it past the qualifying event of the tournament in 2016.
