Rafael Nadal hits tougher shots than Roger Federer, says Pat Cash

Speaking on Eurosport, the 1987 Wimbledon champion Pat Cash commented on Rafael Nadal's straight-set win over Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Cash was amazed at seeing the 17-time Major winner playing so well: “That was brutal, absolutely ruthless and he really did give the young Greek man a lesson", the Australian said. "Everything Rafa does well, he put together today and just dominated. He was very clever today as well, he knew where to serve, saw the weakness in Tsitsipas’ backhand return, so just served it to his backhand, moved the guy around and when Tsitsipas thought when he was getting back into it, Rafa turned it on. I was sat watching the match with one of the other coaches and he caught me shaking my head, and I just said ‘I don’t know how he does it!’.

Rafa brings something to tennis that has never been seen before, never been done. We have seen players who play like Federer, obviously Federer does it better, but Rafa does some shots, some of the half volleys he hits, which are really, really tough, he just rockets them and makes it look so easy He’s incredibly skilful, he’s so smart, he knows exactly what to do in every situation."
