Tsitsipas is doing what Roger Federer did at his age - Wilander

Mats Wilander sees a lot of similarities between Roger Federer and Stefanos Tsitsipas. At 19 years old the Swiss upset Pete Sampras in 2001 Wimbledon fourth round, now at the 2019 Australian Open the 20-year-old Tsitsipas defeated Federer. 'He is so fun to watch', Wilander said. 'I cannot believe I am watching this guy playing tennis in 2019. I can't believe Federer is gonna quit and we don't see this game. Not sure. Tsitsipas has been doing exactly what Federer has been doing for the last 20 years. I think it's important to have guys like him around, he seems to be so positive, to be very grounded and when you see his reactions after some of his wins, and when you look at the range of Roger, Novak, Rafa, you are like: "Wow he is so surprised but he is grounded, he is happy". At some point, you can't have too much success and you are not inspiring everybody every time you win. And it's impossible for Roger, Rafa and Novak to show the genius and emotions happening because to them 14, 15, 16, I am not sure it means the same to them.'

Meanwhile, the fellow Eurosport commentator Alex Corretja indicated Petra Kvitova as the favourite in the women's final. 'The way she is playing, she is understanding the game right now. She is playing smarter and she is having fun. The way she is handling the situation, the ball got out so fast from the racket especially on the backhand and obviously, her serve has always been great.'
