Agassi: I could not compete with Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Djokovic
In an interview, the eight-time Grand Slam winner Andre Agassi commented on the differences between him and the Big Three. Agassi shared a very interesting opinion. "Do you see how they hit the ball from the baseline? I could have played at these levels for 10 minutes, then I would have left. I would have never beaten one between Rafa Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer, not even if I had played against them for a million times. My best shape of the past would have never been able to compete with their worst shape," said Agassi.
He also made a confession: "There have been days where I hate the game with all my strength. I watch it now, I follow it and I speak about it being happy."
His biggest mistake as a tennis player? "Thinking that all my happiness would end once I achieved the world no. 1 ranking. The opposite happened."
His biggest off-court mistake: "Signing with Adidas and leaving Nike. It took time to me to modify it."
The 1976 French Open winner Adriano Panatta believes that in the future, tennis players will just hit strong and strong. But Agassi has mixed feelings about it: "Throwing balls will never be easy to become a Federer or Nadal. It takes so much more, and Adriano should not get worried about it..."
After a brief stint with Novak Djokovic as his coach, Agassi is now coaching former world no. 3 Grigor Dimitrov.
