Roger Federer draws perfect player, picks Rafael Nadal for the best volley
In an interview to Herald Sun Roger Federer chose how his perfect tennis player would look like. For the first serve, Federer indicated Ivo Karlovic or John Isner, who are respectively 206 and 208cm tall. Federer picked Isner for the second serve. For the best volley, Federer has chosen Rafael Nadal: “I think Rafa’s up there.”
The Spaniard improved a lot his net game as he showed at this month's Australian Open winning six straight-set matches through an aggressive gamestyle. Federer also picked Nadal for the best forehand.
The 37-year-old feels he owns the best backhand slice: “I hope that’s me.”
Best backhand? Federer gave two players: “Single-handed, that’s Stan (Wawrinka). Double-handed, maybe Djokovic.”
Federer did not pick any player for the best smash: “Not the most important shot (laughing).”
