Young player reveals advice he received from Rafael Nadal

Pedro Vives is one of the many professional tennis players training at the Rafa Nadal Academy. Explaining the reasons that led him to come there, Vives, in an interview to Cadena Ser, said: "The idea was to come here studying and playing. Being able to practice in the morning and afternoon, then studying online. We usually wake up at 7:00 AM, then we train at 8:00 for two hours and a half, we go to the gym to prevent injuries. We work on our arms, abs. We have a free hour to have lunch study or what we want to do. We comeback training at 2:30 PM, an hour and a half of a lighter tennis session, then a tougher fitness session."

On his gamestyle, Vives added: "I like to attack a lot, play volleys even if it's not my strength. I like fast points, attack and try to make others run more than me."

About his goals, Vives said: "You had a change on the Futures Tour, I will play Futures the whole year and then head into the Challenger Tour as soon as possible."

He also commented on Rafael Nadal's influence on him: "Having him so close means a lot. He gave me a piece of advice in terms of technique but it also can help with my attitude."

Asked if the 2019 season will be marked by the Big Three, Vives replied: "For what was seen in Australia, you had a lot of difference between Rafa, Nole and the rest. But Tsitsipas has been playing and he and Zverev can do big well."
