Federer, Nadal, Djokovic would retire if they stop winning - Mouratoglou
In an interview to ATP Tennis Radio the Serena Williams' coach Patrick Mouratoglou praised the Big Three dominance. Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal have won 52 Grand Slam titles combined and they do not show any sign to retire from tennis anytime soon.
Speaking at the BNP Paribas Open, Mouratoglou said: "It's absolutely incredible. There are so many things to say about them. The first thing is that in general, the careers are longer than before and I see one reason for that. There is better preparation, there are more people around them and the body is better trained than before. But there is much more than that on those three. When you are winning so much and you are at the top of the world, it's difficult to stop, and why would you stop? They are winning a lot of matches and this is the best motivation. When you are not winning anymore, I think you would stop. They all see they can win Grand Slams otherwise they would retire. That's the number one thing. They all love the game otherwise they would not be the champions they are. We do not realize that we are living an incredible moment of the game. When Pete Sampras won his 14th Grand Slam, everybody was saying, This record is insane, no one will ever beat it. Now three guys beat it at the same time, imagine if there was just one guy, how many Slams he would have. Unbelievable. Because how many Grand Slams Novak prevented Roger and Rafa from winning? And we can say the same for all of them. They are probably the best three players of all time. And you have to give credit to Stan, Murray, del Potro, Cilic who have been able to win Grand Slams while the Big Three were playing.
