Greg Rusedski makes prediction about Roger Federer-John Isner match

The former world No. 4 Greg Rusedski believes that Roger Federer is the favorite heading into the upcoming Miami Open final against John Isner. Speaking on Amazon Prime the Brit said: “He is [Federer] not so worried about that because what he’ll do, he’ll get a right-handed hitting partner and he’ll get him to stand on the ’T’ in the tennis court and then use the angle with the serves up top to get used to it. You have 0.6 of a second to react to that first serve and the second serve is massive which is under a second at 0.9ms. He will be prepared for that. He won’t have to deal with the left-handed spin. I think he’s going to be absolutely fine. But boy I hope John Isner serves well for that final."

Rusedski still predicts a close battle between Federer and Isner: "I’m going for Federer to come through in three sets. I think Isner might sneak a set."

The fellow expert Daniela Hantuchova, former world No. 5, believes the match-up between Isner and Federer will be completely different than the one when they faced each other in the 2012 Indian Wells final: "Of course [it will be different[]. They’re completely different players now. The improvement John has made in his game, winning most of the long rallies, not only relying on his serve, coming to the net at much better times. It’s going to be a completely different match-up. Also an interesting thing, I feel like it would have been better for Roger if they played the final tomorrow because it feels like he’s in such a good rhythm, every night playing at 7pm. So I think it will be interesting how they will both handle that and what kind of form they will show on Sunday.”
