Novak Djokovic should have addressed Chris Kermode matter more - Expert

Speaking on The Tennis Channel the former Roger Federer's coach Paul Annacone commented on the ATP Chief Executive Chris Kermode leaving the board at the end of the year. Novak Djokovic was asked to speak about it in a conference call on Thursday but he did not give too many details. "I think Djokovic is in a no-win situation if he expands on it. In an environment like this where there is so many politics going on and the business structure, the ATP is very complicated when you have the tournaments on the half of the tour and the players on the other half. It is really complicated, there is a tug of war going on, I think Chris Kermode did a terrific job, he had a lot of tremendous initiatives that he pushed forward and now you are gonna be out searching for someone else, so good luck", said Annacone.

The other Tennis Channel experts added: "I am surprised Djokovic did not address that more. He is the number one player in the world, he is on the player's council, he is taking this leadership political role, you have got a big move like that, I mean that's a major announcement and Djokovic was asked about it. I was surprised to see that, you have got a certain level of moral authority when you are the number one player in the world."

"It has to do with prize money, with governance. A lot of things. Roger and Rafa were on the side of Kermode but they were not consulted by Djokovic."
