Roger Federer Leads Tennis Players in ESPN World Fame 100 issue

Tennis - Roger Federer leads the list of tennis players in the ESPN World Fame 100 Issue, which ranks the top 100 athletes in the world based on Google search scores (peaks and averages measured on a 100-point scale), endorsement dollars and social media following.

Soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo leads the list of players on the list, followed by basketball star Lebron James, soccer stars Lionel Messi and Neymar and mixed martial arts star, Conor McGregor. Federer, who won the Australian Open in 2018, is ranked No. 6 in the list ahead of Spanish rival Rafael Nadal, who comes in at No. 8.

Indian cricketer Virat Kohli comes in at No. 7, Basketball star Stephen Curry is at No. 9 and Golfing star Tiger Woods rounds out the Top 10 list.

Other tennis stars in the Top 100 list include Serena Williams at No. 17, World No. 1 Novak Djokovic at No.20, Japan's Kei Nishikori at No. 28, Maria Sharapova at No. 37, Stan Wawrinka at No. 60, Andy Murray at N0. 75 and India's Sania Mirza at No. 93.

Tennis dominated the list of Top 25 women in the issue with Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova and Sania Mirza rounding out the Top 3. Former World No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki is at No. 4, Venus Williams is at No. 6, Romania's Simona Halep is at No. 8, two-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka is at No. 11, Germany's Angelique Kerber is at No. 14, Victoria Azarenka is at No. 15, Sloane Stephens at No. 21 and Spain's Garbine Muguruza is at No. 24. 

Footballers lead the way with 36 Top 100 players, followed by basketball which has 16 players, cricket which has 11 players and tennis which has nine players.
