Roger Federer: 'On holidays I forget about practice, focus on having fun'
How does Roger Federer make the transition from being around the world on the tour competing at the highest level to taking a rest and going on holidays? The Swiss player himself explained it in an interview. "I do it really quickly. I always felt the moment that I leave the court, I am very professional but I forget about the practice, the match and I start recuperating and doing other things like, What are we gonna do now, what could we do fun and now it's more with the kids, we go to the zoo, the park, what can we do tonight for dinner, so all these things, so I also do treatment", said Federer.
On his Foundation, Federer added: "Clearly tennis is my priority but the Foundation is only going to get more important as we move forward from here. It's so inspiring to raise awareness, money and help others. Giving back for me, that's how I was brought up through my mom and my dad and so I have that opportunity through my mom and my dad and so I have that opportunity playing and doing it at the same time, it's pretty amazing I must say. I am very lucky in this respect and I hope I can keep it up and then hopefully I will get my kids involved and explain them about values and that they should be doing the same hopefully in the future."
He finally recalled some of the best tweeners he hit during his career: "I won one against John Isner in Shanghai, I did one at the US Open against Novak Djokovic, in 2009 Davis Cup. Luck needs to be involved."
