Tommy Haas on goals for Indian Wells: Building museum, additional courts

Some big innovations could be introduced at the BNP Paribas Open in the next few years. That's what Tournament Director Tommy Haas revealed in an interview to L'Equipe. "The site is already amazing. But we can do even better. Could we build another No. 3 court, a bigger one? Or a tennis museum? Or a hotel, maybe nearer to the Stadium? Many ideas are up in the air. One may achieve them in the next two or three years... One may also think about holding other events here besides a tennis tournament. Basketball has already been played. Why not concerts? We think about all this," said Haas.

Players said they feel different, special vibes when they come here. Why? "I cannot speak on behalf of all players but here, I feel, they can breathe. I exactly feel the same. I live in Los Angeles, but when I come here, I think I would love to spend more time here. Yeah, if you are a big fan of New York or you want to hang out late night, or if you are looking for some craziness, something will be missed in Indian Wells. But if you want to take some fresh air, you can feel fresh, not by going far away from the hotel, breathing with no stress, this place is perfect. And we improve every year."

Haas gave his official farewell to tennis just in Indian Wells after last years' quarter-final match, featuring Roger Federer's win over Hyeon Chung.
