WATCH: Roger Federer videobombs Monfils and Svitolina
Roger Federer has once again proven why he is a fan favourite on and off the court. It’s no secret Gael Monfils and Elina Svitolina are dating and share an Instagram account “g.e.m.s life”. The account features photos and videos of the pair enjoying life together and travelling to different countries, as they play tournaments around the world.
And now Roger Federer has scored himself a special appearance on the account. Seemingly oblivious to the fact the 20-time Grand Slam champion was watching them, Monfils and Svitolina started a video updating their fans on their time in Dubai.
“Hi guys, we are in Dubai, having a great time,” Monfils says. “Yeah enjoying ourselves, just wanted to say hello to you. And it’s amazing to be here… and lots of wishes,” Svitolina continues.
They are then interrupted by Federer, who pops his head in the background and surprises the pair.
“Hi guys, how’s the gems life going on the Instagram account?”
The pair then laugh it off, as Federer walks away. Svitolina and Monfils are in Dubai for the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships. Svitolina reached the semi-finals last week and stayed in Dubai to watch Monfils in action. He will play Stefanos Tsitsipas in the semi-final.
