Anastasia Pavlychenkova: This is one of my favourite tournaments
Seeded third at the Abierto GNP Seguros, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova recorded the third double bagel match of her career with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Serb Ivana Jorovic, wrapping the match in under an hour to make it to the last eight.
This was her double bagel in less than a year, winning with the same scoreline over Tatjana Maria at the Internationaux de Strasbourg in May en route to winning the title.
"I feel great, I feel good and I really like to play here. It's one of my favourite tournaments and I always love coming back here," Pavlyuchenkova said after the match."The last game I was struggling because my concentration level got a little low. The match was tough, every point. She had a lot of opportunities as well in the second set, so I'm just happy that I won it so easily."
Presently ranked just outside the Top-30 at No.33 on the WTA Charts, Pavlyuchenkova was completely dominating in the match, smacking 20 winners to Jorovic’s 5. She also had a very impressive break point conversion rate, winning 6 of the 9 break points she had.
Though Jorovic had a couple of chances to break back in the second set, she was no match to Pavlyuchenkova’s power.
This was the second double bagel on the WTA Tour this season with the first one coming when Maria Sharapova outclassed Harriet Dart at the Australian Open
