I haven't decided anything about my post career future, says David Ferrer
In an interview to ESPN, David Ferrer was asked about how his future after his retirement from the professional tennis looks like. The Spanish player said: "I haven't decided anything. I am living the moment I am living now and it will be a more calm life, spending time with my family which is what I need now."
Ferrer also commented on the reasons that led him to compete in Miami: "I have given good memories to fans but also to my colleagues. I felt grateful for sharing time with them, mixing up several generations, I enjoyed a very good step in my life and I will live in a different way. I just want to say thank for all the support I was given, I feel a very lucky person because I felt very loved during all these years especially in the late stage of my career which I would have never expected."
Asked about his best career memories, the 36-year-old concluded: "Maybe my best memories was in Davis Cup. It was my intensitive [sic] when I won Juan Martin del Potro in Seville, or when I won in Madrid, in Barcelona the final of Davis Cup with Radek Stepanek. This year I had the chance to win in my home in Valencia, winning the best match. In Davis Cup, I maybe had my best memories."
Ferrer will play his last two career tournaments in Barcelona and Madrid.
